Abstract

In this response to Mr Whitton (see article "Justice or Money", this issue) the author, a French jurist, considers the alleged advantages of the civil law or "continental" legal systems in light of actual practice and procedure today in Europe. He concludes that practitioners in both systems of law and procedure have much to learn from each other.
