Abstract
This article examines the lack of legal safeguards given to same-sex relationships in Western Australia and critiques the inadequacy of basic human rights protection in this state. More contructively, it sets out various strategies and arrangements, which
can allow for some degree of legal recognition and protection of same-sex relationships, specifically developed for a Western Australian context, but also raising issues of general interest. From property and finances, to migration, to children and health -- this guide provides non-lawyers with useful information about key legal issues which can affect same-sex relationships and their breakdown. Aimed at giving simple, practical legal suggestions, it concludes with an appendice of sample legal forms and documents.
