Abstract
Australia became a signatory to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD)in 1966 and ratified the Convention in 1975. Article 4(b) deals with the prohibition of organisations which promote and incite racial discrimination and the punishment of those who participate in such organisations. Australia is not observing its legal obligations whereby organisations in Australia which promote and incite racial discrimination, particularly against Aboriginal people, appear to be immune from the law.
