Abstract

This article focuses on the little discussed problem of domestic violence in same sex relationships, and the silence surrounding this issue. The recent Western Australian case of McEwan is addressed, in which the defendant, charged with murdering his partner, successfully relied on the "battered wife (spouse) syndrome".
