With its 50th anniversary on the horizon, Murdoch University is seeking input into a new strategy that will carry the University forward to 2030 and beyond.

Vice Chancellor Andrew Deeks said while staff, students and other critical stakeholders are being invited to contribute to the co-design of a new vision for Murdoch, the University is also seeking input from government, business and industry, prospective students and their parents, family members and friends of Murdoch staff, as well as the general public.

“Murdoch’s challenges over the past several years have been well documented. As the new Vice Chancellor, I want to enhance the University’s standing in the community and ensure Murdoch remains an intricate part of a vibrant, healthy and diverse Western Australian higher education sector,” he said.

“Under the Murdoch University Act, we are dedicated to the ‘advancement and application of knowledge to the benefit of industry, business and government, and to the benefit and wellbeing of the Western Australian, Australian and international communities’.

“While Murdoch has achieved these over many decades through its excellent learning and teaching, and research focused on solutions to some of our world’s most pressing problems in food, health and environmental sustainability, we are always evolving and need to respond to changes in the education sector and the community we serve. I therefore encourage everyone with an interest in the future of Murdoch to have their say.”

short anonymous survey has been developed for public responses. It will remain open until 31 July.
