King's Birthday honours for Professor Una Ryan

Professor Una Ryan from School of Agricultural Sciences was recently appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia.

Professor Ryan teaches biochemistry to  agricultural and veterinary science students. Her leadership of the Vector and Waterborne Pathogens Research Group has been instrumental in advancing the understanding of these critical areas of public health.

Professor Ryan's dedication to training the next generation of parasitologists has seen her mentor and supervise countless undergraduate students, post-doctoral researchers, academic staff, and honours and PhD candidates. She has madegreat contributions to the Australian Society for Parasitology that have benefited scientists and students across Australia and globally.

In her role in School of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Ryan displays exceptional leadership. Apart from her scientific achievements, she is also highly respected for her professionalism and generosity in providing mentoring and support that to colleagues and students.

The team in the School of Agricultural Sciences are delighted to see Professor Ryan's achievements recognised with this award. Congratulations Una!
