School of Allied Health Graduations September 2024

Dr Lee Daffin and Head of Chiropractic Barrett Losco celebrate with Sarah Oui

The School of Allied Health celebrates the success of over 20 new graduates at the September 2024 Graduation.

Walking in full academic regalia as part of the Academic Procession at the Graduation Ceremony on the 26th of September for Allied Health, Education, Nursing, and Psychology graduates, particularly in the meaningful setting of the Northern Plaza at Boola Katitjin, Murdoch University, is a moment filled with immense pride and significance. Dr Lee Daffin from the Discipline of Chiropractic, reflects on the evening.

Then below, are the full list of graduates, we wish you all the best of success.

“As you walk into the plaza the brilliant colours of your gowns and caps symbolise the years of dedication to your scholarly pursuits. The ceremonial regalia, with its intricate designs and colours denoting your degree and field, reflects the profound connection you have to a global academic community. It represents your achievements as well as the responsibilities that come with guiding and nurturing future scholars. Your personal academic journeys represents the wider tradition of knowledge being passed down through the generations.

The sight of rows of graduates beaming with excitement and anticipation, along with their families and friends enhances the sense of purpose while filling the air with joy and celebration. Watching from the stage there is a powerful sense of accomplishment not just for the students but also form the dedicated staff who applaud every student that passes across the stage to receive their degree. The applause, smiles, and the energy of the crowd create lifelong memories as the academic world and personal achievements converge as one.

The setting of Boola Katitjin, with its cultural connection to the land, adds a unique depth to the ceremony. Knowing that you are part of an institution that respects and acknowledges the traditions of the Indigenous peoples of the land elevates the occasion with an added layer of pride and meaning. It’s a reminder of the responsibilities academics hold to foster understanding, inclusion, and a sense of shared humanity.

As an academic it is a humbling and empowering moment knowing that your presence and commitment to education have contributed to this bright point in your students journeys. Congratulation to the graduation students as you walk with your peers, reflecting not only on your own journey but on the collective accomplishments of your academic community.”
