Industry Experts Transform Accounting for Managers at Murdoch Business School

Business leaders collaborate

Empowered by The National Priorities and Industry Partnership (NPILF) funding, Murdoch Business School advances its educational landscape, enriched by ongoing industry collaborations and innovation.

The discipline of Accounting and Finance at Murdoch Business School is thrilled to share that a successful roundtable event brought together a range of highly experienced industry experts to contribute to the evolution of Accounting for Managers for postgraduate students.

Dr. Terri Trireksani, the Head of Accounting and Finance at Murdoch Business School, spearheaded this initiative, secured funding from the prestigious NPILF project, and played a pivotal role in orchestrating the event.

Diverse professionals, representing various sectors, actively participated in shaping the future of education. Esteemed individuals such as Dr. Linda Hui Yang (The Culture Factor Group), Tim Thurbin (CAANZ), Joanne Wilson (Hesperia), Andrew Caddy (Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation), Darren Ellis (Eagle Shared Services), Minji Kim (Ngala), Danika Lenzarini (BDO), Ka Sha (CPA member), and Nenad Sušić (Rio Tinto) lent their expertise to the discussions.

Professor Antonia Girardi, the Dean of Murdoch Business School, emphasised the significance of incorporating diverse perspectives from industry professionals, she said "I underscore the importance of co-designing academic units to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the dynamic realities of the business landscape. This ensures that students receive a well-rounded education."

Dr. Terri Trireksani expanded the significance of this project further, “This collaborative effort was made possible through the support of NPILF, which funded this crucial project. The Murdoch Business School extends its gratitude to the industry participants for sharing their valuable insights. Additionally, special thanks go to two emerging academics, Dr. Trisna Dwiyanti and Dr. Augustine Donkor, for their assistance in making this event a success.”
