Murdoch’s School of Engineering and Energy Supports Robotics Events

2024 Robotics Day

This week, Murdoch University’s School of Engineering and Energy demonstrated its commitment to fostering young talent in the field of robotics by supporting two significant events.

The first event was the VEX Robotics Championship held at Carey Baptist College. This exciting tournament saw over 100 students from schools across Western Australia compete in various robotics challenges.  Dr. Keal Byrne, along with Outreach ambassadors from Murdoch University attended the event, providing guidance and support to the participants. The championship was a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their skills and creativity in robotics.

In addition to the VEX Robotics Championship, Murdoch also supported the FIRST Technical Challenge Build Day at Peter Carnley Anglican Community School. During this event ambassadors representing the School of Engineering and Energy mentored students, assisting them with the design and construction of their robots. This hands-on support was crucial in preparing the students for an upcoming competition in a few weeks, which Murdoch will also be attending.

These events highlight Murdoch University’s dedication to engaging with the community and inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators. By providing mentorship and resources, the School of Engineering and Energy is helping to cultivate a passion for STEM among young students, ensuring a bright future for the field of robotics in Western Australia.
