Welcome to the School of Nursing

Nursing is the science of professional caring that offers opportunities to promote health and prevent illness, restore wellbeing, and alleviate suffering. Our aim as a collective of professional nursing scholars and clinicians is to work collaboratively together with undergraduate and graduate students to nurture, support, develop and enable them to practice independently and interdependently as registered nurses within the Australian healthcare industry.

Our accredited and fully prescribed undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing degree course is offered full-time or part-time on-campus at the Mandurah and Perth Campuses. This course provides a wide-ranging program of ePortfolio learning, simulated practice in state-of-the-art clinical laboratories, advanced nursing clinical skill development, biological, behavioural, and nursing sciences, strong hospital and community health collaborations for clinical placements, and the opportunity for an international study experience.

Graduates of this degree course will be eligible to apply for registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. The School of Nursing also has a range of post graduate courses for already registered nurses interested in advancing their professional careers in contemporary nursing practice areas such as Health Care Management, Health Administration, Policy and Leadership, Aged Care, and Mental Health.

In these courses graduate students will focus on advancement by gaining the necessary skills and knowledge needed to meet the demands of Australia’s dynamic healthcare system. There is also the opportunity to progress to higher degrees by research. We welcome you to explore our website and find more about our courses, our research, our people, and our projects.
