A snapshot of open day at the Vet School

Murdoch University open day was held on Saturday, April 5th, and the School of Veterinary Medicine was well represented.
Prospective veterinary students had all of their questions answered by academics at the Veterinary Medicine stall and course talks.
There were multiple tours where around 300 people toured the School which included the anatomy museum, the state of the art area designed for student surgical teaching and The Animal Hospital. As The Animal Hospital is open 24/7 the breadth and depth of expertise available was showcased through interactive displays where staff answered questions and talked about what their jobs entailed.
Visitors got to experience what it is like inside a multidisciplinary hospital and see how veterinary students are taught in their clinical year, as they rotate through sections such as anaesthesia, anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, equine, farm animal, oncology, primary care, small animal medicine, small animal surgery and wildlife.
We all had a ball and hope to see even more people next year.News
