Borrowing books from other libraries - upcoming interruptions

The National Library of Australia, which maintains the systems facilitating interlibrary loans within Australia, will undergo upgrades to its document delivery system from April to June 2025.

This may impact Murdoch student and staff requests to borrow books from other libraries in the following ways:

  • Print book requests may be declined, if the only source is within the Eastern States
  • Loan periods for print books may be significantly reduced
  • There will be a strict return deadline for print books, and renewals will not be available.

We will advise you if your request to borrow a book from another library is impacted during this time. Requests for digital copies of book chapters or journal articles will not be affected.
