Exciting New MMFS Degrees for 2026

The School of Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences is thrilled to announce the approval of a major strategic initiative set to revolutionise our educational offerings.
New Degree Programmes Unveiled
Commencing in 2026, the current Bachelor of Science (B1380) will be replaced by two innovative degree programmes: the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (B1419) and the Bachelor of Forensic Science (B1418).
The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBiomedSc) will offer a range of focused majors designed to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills. The available majors include:
- Biochemistry and Nutrition (BBiomedSc)
- Biomedicine (BBiomedSc)
- Clinical Laboratory Science (BBiomedSc)
- Genetics and Biotechnology (BBiomedSc)
- Microbiology and Immunology (BBiomedSc)
- Pharmacology and Toxicology (BBiomedSc).
Additionally, the Bachelor of Forensic Science (BForSc) will provide specialised education in the following areas:
- Forensic Biology (BForSc)
- Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology (BForSc)
- Forensic Investigation (secondary major only)
These new courses complement our existing undergraduate Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine and Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition programmes.
